I am getting ready to try something new! I get tired of doing the same old vocabulary activities so I have decided to take it digital using Schoology Google Drive assignments!









I am giving my students a template and then having them complete the cards. Basically, it is the Frayer Model with a digital spin. For the examples box, I am having students either give me an example or more details. You can edit what information you want your student to supply.




I am using Schoology Assignments and using Google Drive Assignments, or if a student does not have a Google Account you can also use the One Drive assignments.

Inserting Checkboxes in Google Sheets

Google Sheets has Checkboxes!

To use checkboxes:

Highlight the cells you would like to add checkboxes


Go to insert and click on “checkbox”

I have been using these for classroom checklists! This is a great way to show students what work they still need to complete. The uses are limitless!

Sir Mix A Lot Chrome Extension

This is a great extension for those of you that share a lot of your documents. Have you ever accidentally given someone editing privileges? Well, this extension will help you avoid this ever happening again. Simply set your share settings and then click on the extension to choose if you want to share a preview, pdf, or force viewers to make a copy of the document. This is an easy button the specifies how you would like to share your document.

How it works. Open the website and customize your screen. You can choose a background type your instructions in the textbox, choose a work symbol, set a timer, show the clock, use the traffic light, pick a random name, display the noise level in your classroom, you can even add QR codes! This is a great resource to display instructions for your day.

Control Shift T

Tech Tip: Control Shift T

Have you ever closed a web page accidentally, and then could not find it again? Here is a quick tip. If you press Control, Shift T all at the same time it will reopen the last webpage closed. Even better if you have those students that quickly close tabs when you walk up behind them, just press Control, Shift T and the pages will reopen. This will open several tabs closed, in the order, they were closed. (with a Mac Command, Shift, T)
