Have you ever closed a web page accidentally, and then could not find it again? Here is a quick tip. If you press Control, Shift T all at the same time it will reopen the last webpage closed. Even better if you have those students that quickly close tabs when you walk up behind them, just press Control, Shift T and the pages will reopen. Tech Tip: Teacher Ipads

Many teachers have iPads with Apple pencils. Ipads should have come loaded with Notability and Explain Everything. If these Apps are not on your Ipad please let me know. Make sure to state in the work order that Oakwood has already purchased the Apps and they just need to be loaded.

Please make sure to sign in with your Apple ID. Please read THIS note from Shannon regarding Apple ID’s. Everyone will need to sign into their App Store with their Apple ID. If you don't have an Apple ID and need to create one.

Notability and Explain Everything can be used with your Google Drive. These both can be an asset to your classroom when used with Airserver. (this allows you to project your iPad on the Smartboard)

I am available before school, after school, or during 4th period for anyone that wants to learn more.

Below are a couple of screenshots on Notability to get you started. Below are screenshots on how to open a new note or to import a document from your Google Drive.

I Love Bitmoji's!

Bitmoji Image

I love Bitmoji's! You can copy them in presentations, emails, text messages and more. Bitmoji's is a Google Extension and an App. To create, you must create an account. Once you have signed in you can begin creating your Bitmoji. This is so fun! You can even pick out accessories! I prefer to create my Bitmoji using the phone, but you can also do it through the extension when you sign in for the first time. As long as you use the same sign-on in Bitmoji your avatar will transfer between devices.

I add Bitmoji's to my email signatures, text messages, presentations, I have even made stickers and decals out of them. You can use these to create profile pics for webpages and even in Schoology!

Google Sheets: Split Text to Columns

Have you ever copied a list of names and wanted to paste them into sheets, but need the first and last names to be in different cells? This happens a lot to me at the beginning of every year. Sheets has a feature that will allow you to split the text within a column.  To do this:

  •  paste the names into a column
  • highlight the column,
  • select data
  • split text to columns.
This will split the names or other data into different columns.  This works really well if you are copying a list from TAC!

Planning Calendar for Next year

Here is a copy of a planning calendar I have made for this school year.  The calendar has Oakwood dates added.  Each date on the first slide links to the dates listed.  This way you do not have to scroll thru the slides to find your date.  Feel free to make a copy and use.  I use one copy for my lesson plans and use another copy to share the planner with my students.

When using as a lesson planner, I link in presentations and handouts so it is an interactive planning tool.
